Being charged for stopped instances

We have turned up the Cisco CSR v1000 AWS marketplace package for only 15 days, but are being billed for over $500 for this. The page clearly states that the product has a 60-day free trial. Please advise.

Hi

We’re sorry about this issue, there may be confusion here. In order to solve this your need contact directly with your account manager and explain him/her the situation, since they have access to all this package data and agreement they will be able to find out what exactly happened and assist you properly.

Miles,

The free trial is for the license on the CSR1000V.  You still have to pay for the EC2 hardware from Amazon.  I assume this is the portion you are being billed for.  The cost of the software during the "trial" period is free using the BYOL instance, whereas with the other instances the software usage is billed similar to the hardware portion, assuming the instance was powered on.  If the instance was powered off, I would suggest reaching out to Amazon as you should not be billed for an instance that is powered off.
