Hi @suraj sutar

Based on the hardware spec that you provided, I believe that you have a DNA Center First Generation Appliance (DN1-HW-APL) - This is based on the C220M4 and E5-2699 CPU. See the following link that details the DNAC first generation appliance hardware specifications.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/cloud-systems-management/network-automation-and-management/dna-center/2-2-2/install_guide/1stgen/b_cisco_dna_center_install_guide_2_2_2_1stGen/m_review_appliance_features_2_2_2_1stgen.html

I had a Cisco TAC case open a while ago to query the latest recommended CIMC version for the DN1-HW-APL appliance running DNAC 2.2.2.6 and I was pointed to the following DNAC 2.2.2.X release notes. Although the release notes state that these are the minimum versions, and that some later versions are also supported, we were advised at the time to not upgrade higher than 3.0(3f) when running DNAC 2.2.2.X due to various issues. I'm not sure if the advice on this has since changed. I would advise querying this with Cisco TAC before performing the upgrade to prevent any compatibility issues with DNAC.

Supported Firmware

Cisco Integrated Management Controller (Cisco IMC) versions are independent from Cisco DNA Center releases. This release of Cisco DNA Center has been validated against the following firmware:

  • Cisco IMC Version 3.0(3f) for appliance model DN1-HW-APL

  • Cisco IMC Version 4.1(1h) for appliance model DN2-HW-APL

  • Cisco IMC Version 4.1(1h) for appliance model DN2-HW-APL-L

  • Cisco IMC Version 4.1(1h) for appliance model DN2-HW-APL-XL

The preceding versions are the minimum firmware versions. While some later versions are also supported, Cisco DNA Center is not compatible with all later versions.

EDIT

I checked the latest release notes this morning and CIMC 4.1(2g) has now been validated for the DN1-HW-APL appliance running DNAC 2.2.3.X and 2.3.3.X. As you are running DNAC 2.2.2.8 I would still raise a TAC case to query support/compatibility before upgrading.

  • Cisco IMC Version 3.0(3f) and 4.1(2g) for appliance model DN1-HW-APL
