Very. I was a Python dev for about 7 years before going into network infrastructure and then UC, and I've been happy to see the evolution of Python in both networking and adjunct UC applications.
As others have mentioned, Callmanager's AXL API can be addressed easily with Python (or other languages), but the high level nature of Python makes it really straightforward to develop useful UC integrations or automation projects quickly.
One great example; my company has written a number of CLI tools that address the CUCM AXL interface to automate dial plan provisioning or editing for items unavailable for bulk administration via BAT, for instance creating a number of translation patterns in bulk when fed a CSV or TSV file as a source
