Hi,

We have bunch for 2960x as Edge and 4507-R as Core switches, so is it possible to use DNAC for LAN automation and assurance ?

What other benefits we can accomplish from DNA without SD-ACCESS ?

Any suggestions ?

Hello!

I know for SD-Access there are certain hardware/software version requirements: Reference here:https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/solutions/enterprise-networks/software-defined-access/compatibility-matrix.html

If you already have DNA Center and are looking for Assurance use cases, I highly suggest adding wireless. It's an easy lift and can provide a lot of insight into potential wireless problems lurking in your environment. To add wireless, you'll just need to add your WLC into your DNAC inventory and within 30 mins you should start seeing Assurance data populate. Just a couple of warnings: When a WLC is added to DNAC, it pulls in every AP associated to that controller. From a licensing perspective, each AP requires a DNA license so there's some cost associated with it. For that matter, any devices you want to add to Assurance will require a DNA license.

For wireless, its understood.

For switches, can we use DNAC for automation configuration and monitoring without SDA ?

We need to only acquire DNA license on 2960x and 4507 switches ?

Please correct me if wrong.

Yes, Cisco DNA can definitely do a lot of things even without SDA.
To make sure a device is supported, there is a separate compatibility matrix for non SDA: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/cloud-systems-management/dna-center/products-device-support-tables-list.html

Besides wired/wireless assurance, you can use SWIM for automated software management, the network design tabs to synchronize cli/snmp/aaa/dns/ntp/qos configs across your network, and templates for further day-N automation to automatically provision the rest of the device configs.
