Im looking forward to upgrading from 1.2.10 to 1.3 and according to the release notes I should be getting an upgrade banner. Has the general release been held back?

  • Rolling Software Updates

Cisco DNA Center v1.3 will follow the Rolling Software Updates model.

What this means:  There will be an initial seed list of customers and partners that will be given access to the new release in cloud catalog.  The seed list is identified based on attributes from product telemetry data with partners getting access to the release ahead of end customers.  After a validation phase of typically two weeks, the catalog will be opened up to remainder of the installed base.  This will ensure a smooth transition to the new release.

This is why you do not see the 1.3 Banner yet.  Once the "Rolling Software Updates" period ends you will see the Banner.

Cisco DNA Center v1.3 will have Rolling Software Updates as other tools in cisco, hence you are not getting the banner. What happens is whenever any new software or updates gets released, it is available for cetain list of customers. This validation will run for two weeks, just to ensure that customer use the latest release and they do not run into problems Once rolling software updates period ends, then you will bel able to see the banner and throught the transition window you can easily upgrade.

Given the recent security vulnerabilities for versions <1.3 I hope they fast-track this rollout.
