Removing standalone rackmounts from Intersight

I have some standalone rackmounts that we added to Intersight for monitoring purposes.  They are configured locally on the CIMC, so there are no server profiles involved.  For licensing constraints, I have to remove these from Intersight.  I'm thinking that all I need to do is unclaim the servers from our Intersight instance (it's a CVA) and it should not be disruptive.  Does that sound about right, or do I need to power these off to remove them from our instance and licensing?  Thanks for your help!

Hello, If the Server is not part of an IMM domain(Blade/Rack servers connected to a pair of FI's configured in Intersight Mode), then you should be ok removing the Server(Standalone Rack-Server) or UCSM Domain from Intersight without any disruption.

With Intersight SAAS, we have a None(Not Licensed Servers) licensing option applicable for M6 or below generation servers which you can use for basic inventory and connected TAC functionality. The following link provides more details on the same:  https://intersight.com/help/saas/getting_started/licensing_requirements/lic_infra#cisco_ucs_servers_|_license_lifecycle

Thanks for that explanation Sandeep, and sorry I've been slow to respond.  Another random question, though, if your Intersight license expires, there's a 90-day grace period, correct?  Or will the servers just stop functioning?  I'm just trying to get my timing straightened out, with a lot going on.  Thanks!

yes, there is a 90 days grace period. Beyond grace period, your servers will keep functioning but you will be limited with what features you can use in Intersight. You can find all the details here: https://intersight.com/help/saas/getting_started/licensing_requirements/lic_infra#cisco_ucs_servers_|_license_lifecycle
