Cisco Proximity Overtakes Microphone Control to Affect Other Apps.

We are observing that if a user joins a Microsoft Teams or any other meeting such as Zoom etc, near a Cisco WebEx Room Device, without inviting the room itself in the meeting, the Cisco Proximity App (if launched at that time or on startup), overtakes control of microphone and renders no audio in the ongoing meeting.

Microsoft Teams is able to get the control back of the microphone, only after exiting the app and then rejoining the Teams meeting.

Is there a way to have passive control of mic without affecting other apps. ?

This issue makes the app unusable all together and defeats the idea of any meeting, any device any platform for customers using multiple collaboration apps on their desktop, which is the majority out there.

I can see this is a problem. Will raise this as something we should work to improve.

As a workaround, you can give the shared mode applications priority in Windows. The dialog looks something like this.
