Max number of Proximity Clients

Customer has SX80's and MX800 units with 8.0 code.

I had seen documents where these units were going to support a max of 30 devices.

The customer is very surprised when they can not go above 10.  Is this a bug or did someone decide to cripple this feature?

Is there a hidden command, to unlock the higher number of clients?

Which endpoints are supported with the Cisco Proximity Application?

Endpoint support with TC 7.1.2

Hi,

Hi,

This is not a bug.   Please refer to page 12 of CE8 release notes.

Hi

Hi

No, the number of Proximity connections supported is 10 regardless.

The table referenced in your original post was an indicator at the time and is now outdated and should not be used.

Re: Max number of Proximity Clients

@RICHARD MESSINGER and @telraey

We got quite a lot of feedback on this, and have done a change in how the limit works. If you enable all three proximity services (refer to the administrator guide for details), the limit is 3/7/10 (depending on device type).

However, in larger rooms, you can opt to increase the number of simultaneous connections by disabling "ContentShare ToClients" (eg only allowing call control and wireless share from laptops). When you do, the max number of connections are 30 for Cisco Webex Room Series devices.

OK I am properly chastized.

OK I am properly chastized.

Does anyone know if this will be increased in future releases?  This is something that the customer would be REALLY interested in.

Thanks

Re: Hi

I believe you are absolutely correct ... I am sitting in a MX700 room now with 15 people and it says the total number of proximity users is reached , I can't join anymore !
