Proximity not working on HP EliteBook 830 G5

Issue : Proximity not working on HP EliteBook 830 G5

 

Troubleshooting performed

1. installed the audio codec 9.0.232.1

2. Installed the proximity version 3.0 from 2.0.8.

3. Noise cancellation is switched off for microphone.

 

issue still exits.

 

I have recreated the issue and have collected Proximity logs from user's PC.

 

appreciate if you confirm the root cause.

Thanks for the log. Changing the recording mode of the device might help. Changing the recording mode under advanced settings might help; If there is an option for 16-bit, 2-channel recording at 44.1/48khz that would do very nicely. The screenshot at https://proximity.cisco.com/img/help/01-bt-as-default.png shows the relevant dialog. If there are any further options along the lines of “audio enhancements” you might consider disabling these as well.

A few pointers from a previous case we had with a HP Elitebook. 

Check the microphone booster, this was the problem on the previous one, the boost was set to max, it had to be lowered. 

 

Another thing to check is the "Bang & Olufsen" application that might be running in the background which may have custom configurations.
