Why does Proximity Software enable USB camera when started?
We are having issue with Proximity starting users USB cameras that are connect to there laptop. User are concerned that they are being watched cause the light is turn on when Proximity software is on even though they are not located close to a video unit. Is there a bug for this or can this be turn off?
Re: Why does Proximity Software enable USB camera when started?
It sounds like these users are using the microphone in their cameras as their default recording devices. If they set the cameras as recording devices for communications, but the internal microphone as default device for other purposes, the webcam should not be used by Proximity.
See screenshots under the following help article to get an idea of how to do this. Ignore the rest of the article, just see the screenshots.
