I tried switching from 3.06.07E to 16.03.06 and got [1]: % An internal error was encountered. Operation aborted.
Does this software version not work with my switch version? Did I miss something? How would I know looking at the software download page?

Hi
No, you cannot delete the current. You have to make space on your flash, install the new code, reboot into the new code and when you are happy with the new code, you run " software clean" to remove the old code.
Thanks
John

Update: I added the 'new' tag at the end and found that the flash is not large enough to add the new IOS. I tried 'software clean' which deleted the new IOS.

Hi,
Do a "software clean" and then try installing again.
Thanks
John

I tried 'software clean'. The only thing it wanted to delete was the new IOS. I wonder if there is a way to delete the current IOS like you would in a 3560 or 3750 without enough flash memory.
