How do i enable Security and data on the router, (I Don't know what they do I just think i need them so i can learn what they do.)

How do i use Cisco Network Assistance tool to use a GUI to configure my router and switch.
When i try to connect with the IP address i am asked for a user name and password and cisco cisco doesn't work. i have reset many time from what i found on the internet but same error. please help
