Cisco ios for thesis

I have used cisco ios for gns3 for my thesis. However, im really stupid and just found out that it is illegal to do this. Will i get in trouble? Im really worried......

As long you do not sell it or trade IOSs with or w/o GNS3, you should be fine. 

All of us use GNS3 to practice and test IOS, real IOS from real device. Using IOS in GNS3 has become "grey" area for many years.  Some people says you can use IOS in GNS3 if you obtained IOS legally
