& does "AIR-CAP3702E-E-K9" with "Enterprise Wireless Mesh - AP3700 Controller-based SW Image WLC" can work under no-MESH setup.

Get the AP to join the controller and then from the controller configure the AP to be non-MESH. The controller should be able to downgrade the firmware.

In my case, WLC is having 7.6.95.16 IOS version and have all existing AP with "wireless LAN recovery", so AP are recovering their IOS from WLC.

Challenge is now i have new "AIR-CAP3702E-X-K9 " with "Enterprise Wireless Mesh - AP3700 Controller-based SW Image" & i suspect CAP3702E AP model may not work on existing WLC IOS 7.6.95.16 because CAP3702E dont have "wireless LAN recovery" but have "Enterprise Wireless Mesh - AP3700 Controller-based SW Image".
Would you please advise?

3700, regardless if it's I or E, will work with either CAPWAP or MESH firmware. Just let the AP join the controller, configure the AP for "local" and the controller will do the rest.

Yes, force the AP to load the RCV image or upload the RCV image.

Hi Leo,

Upgraded the IOS of WLC to 8.0 version. However the WLC is not learning the AP with mesh image automatically. Only we are are seeing the AP model mac connected to the switch. But this AP is not getting IP address though DHCP server. AP with IOS rec image can get ip from DHCP automatically.

DO you see any alternative to bring AP with mesh image connected to WLC?
