How to factory reset 2960-X to retreive orignial IOS and Web Console

Hello,

I have updated a brand new C2960-X to iOS 15.2.2(E10) with file "c2960x-universalk9-tar.152-2.E10.tar" by WebConsole.

After updated, no error but I have lost the access to Web Console (i get a html linked but when I select Web Console nothing is displayed)

I would like to reset one of our C960X to Factory Default with IOS v15.2(6)E with Express Configuration (DHCP server and WebConsole) to revert back to original state.

another option is also re--upload the GUI file thats used for web access , it should be in flash but maybe if you used .tar as its a package you wont see it without opening directory

It necessary a console cable to run this steps;
Step 1 Initialize the flash file system:

switch: flash_init

Step 2 If you had set the console port speed to anything other than 9600, it has been reset to that particular speed. Change the emulation software line speed to match that of the switch console port.

Step 3 Load any helper files:

switch: load_helper

Step 4 Display the contents of flash memory:

switch: dir flash:

The switch file system appears:

11 -rwx 5825 Mar 01 1993 22:31:59 config.text

Step 5 Rename the configuration file to config.text.old.

This file contains the password definition.

switch: rename flash:config.text flash:config.text.old

Step 6 Boot the system:

switch: boot

You are prompted to start the setup program. Enter N at the prompt:

Continue with the configuration dialog? [yes/no]: N

Step 7 At the switch prompt, enter privileged EXEC mode:

Switch> enable

Step 8 Rename the configuration file to its original name:

Switch# rename flash:config.text.old flash:config.text

Step 9 Copy the configuration file into memory:

Switch# copy flash:config.text system:running-config
Source filename [config.text]?
Destination filename [running-config]?

Press Return in response to the confirmation prompts.

The configuration file is now reloaded, and you can change the password.

Step 10 Enter global configuration mode:

Switch# configure terminal

thanks for the different STEPS.

I am surprised that there is no console cable in the package of the brand new switch

Do you have any reference from : USB to COM cable to administer  or another solution to connect from Windows Terminals software ?

By following this STEPS, is the switch is comming back with Express Configuration with Standard Web Console ?

normally there is a cable in the package, but it necessary an adapter (serial usb) and you will able to connect trough the console.
When you finish these steps, the router will back in default configuration.

You could connect direct to a PC desktop with a serial port without an adapter , they stopped shipping blue serial cables while back on switches, you still get Ethernet rollovers on the more expensive devices like ASRs but i didnt even get the cables on a new batch of 9300 catalyst recently , not good for a new customer to be honest that may not have one lying around

I have follow the STEPS.

The Reset is done with no error: please see screenshot

But I have not DHCP server enable (by switch) and so no Web Console available for Express Configuration

May be, I need to Press 'RETURN' to get started

the GUI comes inside the .tar file contained in the package , did you use a .tar image or a .bin ?
