We are a small school district in Maine and recently got hit with this:
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/field-notices/639/fn63942.html
We have APs which can no longer connect to our 2601 and 4400 controllers.
We are looking for the latest (and last ) version of the software for these controllers which would let us remediate this issue and get us through the end of the school year.
For the 2106 we need:
AIR-WLC2100-K9-7-0-252-0.aes
AIR-WLC2100-K9-7-0-252-0-ER.aes
And for the 4400 we need:
AIR-WLC4400-K9-7-0-252-0.aes
AIR-WLC2100-K9-7-0-252-0-ER.aes
Any help would be appreciated
thanks
Andy in Maine
Note: Cisco support will not let us download them, local Cisco partner won't help us because device is past EOL

Is it "not possible" for physical/hardware reasons or for legal/licensing reasons?
It looks like it is possible to transfer the software from a device that is running the current software to a tftp server. So I just need to find a 2106 running the current version. Would that work?

Downloads Home -> Wireless -> Wireless LAN Controller -> Standalone Controllers
https://software.cisco.com/download/home/279699736
we haven't 4000 series just 3500 or 5500 , the 4400 series page is https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/obsolete/wireless/cisco-4400-series-wireless-lan-controllers.html ?!?
I ask on chat
"I understand you need to download a software for your WLC device. I would like to inform you that SN: xxxxxxxxx (AIR-WLC4402-25-K9) has passed its End of Support date on 30-JUN-2016.
As per Entitlement rules, a product must be active in the contract to be eligible for the software download. However, for some EOL products, software remains available in the Software Download center and we publish it as a courtesy service."

Were you ever able to get the code version downloaded from Cisco? If possible would you be able to share it with me? So far Cisco has not been at all helpful in my case.
Thanks,
John

Look at the top of the page. Can you see the filenames of the files?
What if you put those filenames in a search engine?
