I think I have an okish understanding of Cisco's SDA implementation but I'm struggling to understand what is happening with traceroutes and pings in the underlay. We have an underlay interface that is down and when trying to ping it in the overlay from an end device it TTL expires, it doesnt say unreachable, I'm assuming because the endpoint is unaware of lisp altogether and is bouncing around between the rloc of its local xtr and the map server or something like that, correct me if I'm wrong. The other strange thing is when tracerouting from an edge switch in the underlay it just bounces around seemingly random rloc's of various border and edge nodes forever. Why would it do this? Shouldn't a map request/map resolve happen and say the rloc is no longer reachable?
