Upgradation of C8500-12X in IOS-XE

Hi, 

Please someone tell me how to upgrade catalyst 8500-12x in ios xe 17.6.3a.

I have earlier upgraded cat 9300-48T-4X in IOS-XE. I am listing down the steps, please correct me 

1) show version
2) dir usbflash1:
3) copy usbflash1:c8000aep-universalk9.17.06.03a.SPA.bin flash: ---ENTER
Destination filename [c8000aep-universalk9.17.06.03a.SPA.bin]? ---ENTER

Verify the MD5 checksum--verify /md5 flash:c8000aep-universalk9.17.06.03a.SPA.bin




4) dir flash:
5) Swicth(config)# boot system flash:packages.conf
show boot system
6) install add file flash:c8000aep-universalk9.17.06.03a.SPA.bin activate commit

after reload
install remove inactive

Should I follow the same procedure for Cat 8500-12x ????

what is the current version, sometimes it may be required to ROMMON upgrade, read the release notes also RAM requirement.

is your exiting software install mode or bundle mode.
