Upgrading WS-C3650-24PS with SW version 03.07.04E to Fuji-16.9.5 MD using "warm upgrade / warm reload"

Hi!

 

Does anyone of you tried upgrading WS-C3650-24PS with SW version 03.07.04E to Fuji-16.9.5 MD using "warm upgrade / warm reload" to decrease downtime?

Not going to work. 

Going from 3.X.X to 16.X.X is a "major" upgrade.  This means there will be a mandatory micro-code upgrade and this will take around 22 minutes.

with out downtime and maintenance window not possible, upgrade required downtime and reboot required to take effective, when you move big version micro code also get upgraded automatically.

 

1. take configuraiton backup out of the box.

2. clean the flash old software any to accomidate new IOS

3. agree maintenance window and upgrade

4. make sure you connect to console if possible, in case any unlike errrors to capture to fix the issue.
