CCNA Recertify

Hello, My CCNA is expiring in about a month and I'm not ready to take the CCNP. Is there any benefit to renewing my CCNA before the exam changes? I am in a pretty stable Network I position right now so I'm not too worried about lost opportunity. I just want to make the best out of time and money. Thank in advance.

Hi @cminner88 ,

If you recertify before February 20, it will be valid until its new expiration date.
The advantage of doing it before February 20 is that the exam will be the same one that has been taken so far.

If you recertify after February 20, you must take the certification exam with the new content added.

If your intention is to take the CCNP certification, I tell you that after February 20 the CCNA certification will no longer be a prerequisite for taking the CCNP exam.

I leave this link with a FAQ:
