The Security practice is pleased to announce that Cisco Umbrella Lab v2.2 is now available on dCloud for Cisco and Partner users in the all DCs.

Cisco Umbrella, a cloud security platform, provides the first line of defense against threats on the internet wherever users go. Because it’s built into the foundation of the internet, Cisco Umbrella delivers complete visibility into internet activity across all locations, devices, and users, and blocks threats before they ever reach your network or endpoints.

By analyzing and learning from internet activity patterns, Cisco Umbrella automatically uncovers attacker infrastructure staged for current and emerging threats, and proactively blocks requests to malicious destinations before a connection is even established.

Cisco Umbrella enables you to stop phishing and malware infections earlier, identify already-infected devices faster, and prevent data exfiltration. And because it’s delivered from the cloud, Cisco Umbrella provides an effective security platform that is open, automated, and simple to use.

Cisco Umbrella Investigate provides threat intelligence about domains, IPs, and malware across the internet. Leveraging a live graph of DNS requests and other contextual data, Investigate gives the most complete view of the relationships and evolution of internet domains, IPs, and malware — helping to pinpoint attackers’ infrastructures and predict future threats.

Investigate leverages a massive, diverse data set of 100+ billion daily DNS requests from enterprise and consumer users and live views of the connections between different networks on the internet from over 500 BGP peering partners worldwide. We apply statistical models, which were created using data mining techniques, 3D visualization, and security researcher expertise, to the data to uncover patterns and predict future malicious places on the internet.

With Investigate, security teams can speed up investigations, gain the global context needed to prioritize incident response, and stay ahead of attacks.

The Cisco Umbrella Lab v2.2 now features a new exercise (Scenario 2/Exercise 7) that explores the new App Discovery dashboard.
