Can cloud Databases be used with cisco IMP 11.5su5?

Has anyone been able to test persistent chat using db in the cloud?

Cisco doc says:

"To minimize delay and any negative performance impacts, locate the external database server as close as possible to the IMP service database publisher node"

I'm not db, nor networking expert, but just thinking logically about it, if you can meet the performance requirements of your users (because really, it's the user activity which drives the performance profile), then it doesn't matter if the db is local or remote to the IM&P server(s).

Since Cisco isn't specifically dictating to us where the server needs to be located, you are free to do what you want.

Work with your SE to get the answer from the BU, they would have the final word on this, I've never heard of anyone doing that, and doubt they have tested it to claim support.

Final answer - Not supported, any one willing to try? Feature request may not be of much use with 12.5
