Cisco Jabber 9.2, and Unity 9.1 Question.

Hello everyone,

I am trying to understand how Jabber integrates with Cisco Unity Connection. I know we have to create Service Names and Service Profiles in Call Manager assign that Service Profile to the user.. etc.

These are the versions that I am using.

CUCM 9.1

Unity 9.1

Presence 9.1

My question is when we assign a voicemail service, there are 2 of them, The Voicemail Service and the MailStore Service.

Do we have to add those 2 service to make Voicemail interaction work with Jabber?

Why it is just not enough with voicemail service?

What is the difference between one to the other?

Why we need one and why we need the other?

What happen if I just add one of them?

Those Services seems to be the same.

Could you please help me to understand that?

The mailstore service provides users with visual voicemail capabilities.
