Cisco Jabber and Cisco Web Browser Add-on compatibility

Having the Cisco Jabber 12.5.0.22884 and the Cisco Web Communicator Add-on 11.8.2.254458, when loading the Jabber SDK Sample Webpage 11.8(2) and initiate a sample login, the communication with the add-on is lost and the Cisco Web Communicator Add-On crashes.

I can see the message "Unhandled exception at 0x0000004C in CiscoWebCommunicatorAddOn.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation executing location 0x0000004C." when debugging. Softphone logs do not log any crash nor error that I am able to identify.

Does it happen to someone else? How were you able to make those two software work together?

Hi there

I would say you should open up a case in Devnet community to check if any developers are facing these issues.

https://developer.cisco.com/site/jabber-websdk/develop-and-test/voice-and-video/overview/

Also refer to the below post, though its an installation issue, might be helpful for you

Update: I managed to make work the version 11.7, the problem was in that I was using a code based on the web sample softphone version 11.0.1 so I made a new one based on the version 11.7.

However, version 11.7 is going to be obsolete eventually and I will have to make this work with version 11.8 and up.

Thanks @Ratheesh Kumar for the answer. Yesterday I uninstalled the Cisco Jabber and I achieved to make the Cisco Web Browser Add-On to work. There is something not working well when both software pieces are installed in the same computer. I checked the Release notes for Jabber SDK and found no information related to this case. Shall I open a DevNet case?

Hi there

I would go for it, as in Devnet community there are plenty of developers working and sharing their ideas/issues.

Good luck!!
