Hi Team,
i am using Jabber 11.7. i read from few cisco docs that the local IM chat history is hard coded to 99 or 100 messages per contact.
Q 1) Is the limit same for Cisco jabber 11.7 ? If yes, then how can i see chat history for few contacts for more than 100 messages ?
Q 2) Since the jabber chat database is stored locally then why there is a limit ?
Q 3) is there any modification that we can do on jabber config file to increase this limit ?
Please help in understanding this weird behavior for jabber .
Regards,
Rakesh

Hi Rakesh,
The limit remains the same. There is a limit so that the file size is limited and there is no slowing down of jabber when reading the history file and so as to not use up space in PC.
To have more flexibility you will have to use the persistent chat feature.

Hi Swati,
In my environment, i can see more than 100 messages in the chat history for a particular contact.
How is this possible then ?
Is it possible to have persistent chat for one to one chat ? if yes, how do we differentiate between persistent and normal chat .
if we enable the persistent chat then for every normal chat will it create a persistent chat ?

Not sure, but maybe you meant compliance and not persistent chat?
