Hello,

I was wondering is CMS is working like CUCM in regards to updates so it is checking the checksum of the file and validating the Cisco signature to ensure that the upgrade file's integrity is OK and it is from the official repository.

CUCM and CMS are two product and so  its upgrade process is not the same way. CMS was a product of ACANO which Cisco acquired.

In both cases you must get the upgrade files from Cisco.

  1. Extract the downloaded software package zip file.
  2. The extracted file must be called upgrade.img.
  3. Use WinSCP (or similar application) to Log in to CMS Server uses SFTP on port 22.
  4. Upload the upgrade.img file to the server.

  1. Use Putty to Log in to CMS Server CLI.
  2. Run the command upgrade.
  3. Ensure to enter capital letter Y when the CMS asks for confirmation.

Hi,

The update process is clear for me. The question is if CMS is performing any checksum and/or certificate check on the upgrade files before performing the upgrade (as it is done by the CUCM).
