CMS Ordering requirements when only using CMS for recording

Working with a customer as they want to add recording to their video infrastructure.  I want to deploy CMS for recording 10 concurrent sessions only but realize I will need a CMS Call Bridge.  Beside the recording SKU (CMS-Recording) will I need to purchase Meeting Server 1000 bundle (CTI-CMS-IK-BUN-K9)?   What else if anything will we need?

Thanks

John

The recording server unless it’s a lab needs its own server which can be spec based which is what I would recommend based on the number of recording sessions, see here along-side your call server/DB server.

Thanks.

So I can just order R-CMS-K9 for the software as we will be using the existing virtual server capacity.  Will I need any other licenses as we won't be having conferences on the CMS server?

The recording server shouldn’t need any other license but the main call bridge should have it’s own license right because you have a meeting on it

We will just be calling out from the Recording Server into and existing meeting on an existing VTS.  Will I need a SMP+ licenses for a outbound call?

It might have changed since Cisco acquired Acano, but Acano did allow up to I believe 4 concurrent calls without requiring any call licenses.  Sirini might be able to confirm that, or say otherwise if I'm incorrect, otherwise you'll need an SMP+ for every concurrent CMS recording you plan on having.

Yes Patrick....you do need SMP or ACU license on CMS for each concurrent recording session plus the recording licensing....this is way CMS licensing is setup.....CMS no longer allows a few participants without a key....we do have demo/trial keys for 90 days that replaced this with CMS 2.x last year.

Hope this helps,

Can you please confirm the setup with CMS recorder only (plus call bridge) and vTS worked and the licensing that you ended up ordering.

Thanks,
