Generally speaking, we use Active LDAP Sync for our end users. I have a need to assign Windows Jabber Client to a Local User. I have created the CSF device, and associated the local user with the device. The End User is enabled for Unified CM IM and Presence and the UC Service Profile is set to the System Default.
When signing on to the Windows Jabber Client, for the username I have dropped the @domain and replaced it with @uc.local and then attempt to sign-in. It fails, which I would expect. So, I have chosen the Advanced Settings and changed the account type from Automatic to Cisco Communications Manger 9 or later (we are using 10.5) and set my IM and Presence Server to the location of my UCM/TFTP server.
With this configuration, I get caught in cycle where I am prompted Cisco Jabber "Cannot find your services automatically. Click advanced settings to set up manually. Reset Cisco Jabber to continue (File>Reset Cisco Jabber) - at this point, Reset Cisco Jabber is not available.
I check my settings by choosing Advanced Settings. Then use my local user credentials 'test@UC.local' and choose continue. It prompts my for the necessary Reset. Then, cycle repeats.
I have tried user the server location of IM and Presence rather than TFTP. In older versions of Jabber, it was necessary to inlcude TFTP server, CTI Server and CCMCIP server information.
Is there something I am overlooking preventing the local user from being able to sign-on to Jabber Client?

The user configuration that is required for a local user Vs. an LDAP user is exactly the same, the only difference is that the local user will authenticate to CUCM, and not to LDAP.
I suggest you configure your local user exactly the same as you'd configure one of your LDAP users, and try to login.

Thanks for the response. My local user is set up the same as the LDAP. However, logging in to Jabber requires user@<domain>. My Local CUCM User is not a domain user which I may not have been clear in my original posting.
Are local users required to be domain users, too?

If you're using userID@default domain, you user will have a domain added to it, as all of your LDAP users.
If you're using directory URI, just fill the directory URI with the right user@domain you need.
Go to your IM&P users, what does that user show as IM address??

IM&P users show the test account as UserID@default domain. This looks the same for my LDAP users. However, when I try to sign on with Cisco Jabber, it keeps trying to use the domain account used to sign on to the Windows environment rather than the local UserID I have manually changed, but it fails and reverts back to the windows domain account.
I am signing on to windows with a domain account, but attempting to use a local user account from CUCM to provide IM&P on a common device. Is this even possible in Jabber V11.7? It works in older versions of Jabber.
