CUCM 10.5.2. - Reverse DNS lookup mismatch

Hi Guys,

 

I am trying to put the IM&Presence in production, but, as the service Cisco Sync Agent is status (Stopped) and not running, I am suspecting that have any relation wih DNS that is presenting the error message: Reverse DNS lookup mismatch. This message is appearing in the All Servers (CUCM, CUC and Presence). Any have idea as solve the problem about DNS?

Do you have all servers properly defined in corporate DNS?

What does "nslookup" from your machine return for both forward and reverse inquiry?  Try it multiple times for each entry as there may be a record pointing to different destinations and DNS would just round robin it.

Looks like you have some issues there as you are getting the DNS timeout errors, double check you DNS servers to make sure both forward and reverse lookups are correctly defined.

just make sure your IMP and CUCM have same version. if not please upgrade your IMP version same with CUCM version

 

for DNS, please do test connection first.

and then make sure A & PTR record already create on your DNS server

About DNS, only my co-worker have access the DNS Server (He is verifying) and I too not know about DNS.

Hi

First you will want to verify that your UC applications are configured with the correct DNS Primary and Secondary issue command on CLI of application show network eth0 and note the result.

 

2. If it checks out then you can issue: utils diagnose test and see if the DNS is resolved.

 

3. If it is not verify that the forward and reverse lookup zones are configured. I found that if the forward was created and the reverse was not created at the same time just adding the reverse does not work. You will have to delete the forward and recreate it but this time choose to create the reverse PTR one time.
