I noticed in the release notes that the client now supports displaying device descriptions for hard devices. Are these configurable from the client or is this only from CUCM? I have two very similarly named devices in CUCM and Jabber does not show enough of the description to differentiate between the phones and does not provide a tool tip for the full description.
Thanks
Zack

Hi Zack,
If a device contains a description, this will now be automatically appended onto the end of the device name in Jabber.
If device description field is empty in CCM, then nothing will be appended to the model name in the switch phone-mode drop-down. This will result in the original problem where devices are not distinguishable. Administrators must ensure that there is a meaningful description in place where users have multiple devices of the same type.
Please open an enhancement request with TAC for the tooltip.
Thanks,
