Websites automatically format as hyperlinks when sent in a Jabber chat session, but file paths do not. Is there a way to format file paths as hyperlinks? This would save the step of copying the path from the chat dialog into Windows File Explorer.
Jabber Client should hyperlink file paths. If this is not a feature it should be. I've tried various formats, like using quotes, no quotes, single quotes, etc, with no success. I've read the end-user documentation and found no answers.
I am using Jabber for Windows 10.6.0
Enclose UNC file path
\\server\sharename\filename.ext
within
< >
So it looks like
<\\server\sharename\file.jpg>
This gets you your UNC path linked right in Jabber. Looks goofy but works.
Good as of Jabber 11.9.x and 12.1.x
