IM and Presence 10.5: Support for CUPS Clients?

Cisco Forum:

Does IM and Presence version 10.5.1.10000-8 support the legacy CUPS Clients (8.6(4) and below)?

A customer is on Presence version 8.5.2.10000-49 with CUPS Clients 8.5(6) and they wish to know if they need to upgrade the Client software for the system upgrade to 10.5.  

Or is only Jabber now supported?
