Is Jabber for Mac the new CUPC 8.5 client for Mac?

We are just deploying UC at my office, and being the only one on Mac in this place I'm a bit left on my own. I was pointed to the CUPC 7.12 client, which really doesn't work that well. Presence does not seem to work, chat doesn't either, adding contacts works if I add, close the app and the reopens it, etc etc.

So, is the Jabber for Mac client the one I should use instead? Will there ever be a CUPC 8.5 for Mac, or is it Jabber now?

Yes correct. Jabber is the new CUPC for Mac. CUPC is merged in Jabber.

There will be no further development in CUPC for Mac.

Great news! At least I hope that the Jabber client will work in the environemnt we have here, where all WIndows users are using CUPC 8.5.4.

WIll CUPC also merge into Jabber on Windows OS?

Yes, that's more or less the plan from BU ( i.e. CUPC 9 would mostly be rebranded as Jabber ), regardless of OS on which it will be installed.
