Jabber 10.5 and Server 2003 AD

Hello All,

In the release notes for Jabber 10.5 it states the following:

Depreciated Support
Support for the following software has been depreciated in this release:
• Microsoft Office 2007
• Microsoft SharePoint 2007
• Active Directory Windows Server 2003

We currently run Server 2003 AD R2, and am curious to know if anything changed in 10.5 that would cause issues with server 2003 R2 AD or is it just a case of not being able to support all versions of AD.

We would very much like to roll Jabber 10.5 out to our user base but this is obviously a sticking point.

Thanks

Lewis.

As we depreciated Server 2003 AD R2 integration with Jabber 10.5 we haven't carried out any test or validation, so are unable to advise if the integration would be successful. As support for this has been depreciated, it would not be supported by Cisco with a Jabber 10.5 live deployment.

Microsoft's Mainstream support for this AD solution ended in 2010 and our integration efforts have now shifted to newer products based on customer demand.

You can either continue to run an older version of Jabber which does support this integration, or you'll need to plan for an AD product update (I appreciate that's a major undertaking.)

thanks, Damien
