I'm sure this is still prevalent in all version, but two gripes I have about current Jabber behavior:
1) some two-character emoticons should only become an icon when it's only those two characters, not being followed by more alphabetic or numeric characters (we use the acronym XDP, and it always misfigures unneccessarily). => may edit the XML, but we don't have Admin rights on our Laptops :)
2) When pasting to text-only implementation (text editor), make that part or the clipboard include the original characters used to create the emoticon, or at least the default representation if that was lost in usage (Jabber internal storage) => Request for Enhancement
