Jabber Change JID to Directory URI

Hello, as i know, the Jabber Client always use the Chat ID for the contact list within Jabber Client.

To present the right Name, the Jabber Client makes a Directory Lookup.

In "normal" Operation the JID is the SamAccountname.. So Jabber makes a lookup for the SamAccountname in the Directory (Chat ID = SamAccountname).

When i change JID to Directory URI and use at Source within CUCM the "mail" field, the Chat ID is the Mail Address of the User.

How does Jabber Client know that he should makes a Directory Lookup for the mail Attribute instaed of the SamAccountname Attribute to ffind the Display Name for that Contact?

After changing to Directory URI using the provided instructions, how does this affect the existing Jabber clients with the old JID and saved credentials?

This just changes the mapping for the JID in IM&P, not credentials.
