Jabber - Disable End User Access to Settings

Hi all. We want to prevent our end users from changing settings in the Jabber application, specifically the status settings. What is the best way to do this? Registry setting, Jabber XML file, or something else?

I agree with Java on his answer, to my knowledge there are no way to achieve what you ask about.

If I may be so bold to ask you for the use case you have for blocking your users from changing their status? This seems quite radical and limiting IMHO as it sort of negate the overall intent of a IM system.

How to prevent a user from changing the settings of Cisco Jabber for example he will not be able to turn off the biometric identification?

Does it even exist?

1. Open Cisco Unified Communications Manager Administration.
2. Click System > User Policies.
3. Click Create.
4. Enter a name for your user policy.
5. Select the Jabber tab.
6. Under Jabber Settings, deselect the Allow users to change Jabber settings checkbox.
7. Click Save.
