Jabber for Mac - Can I setup with CUCM 8.6

Hi,

I am running CUCM v8.6, Unity,  with LDAP for authentication.  Question is....Can I setup Jabber for Mac clients with this configuration.  Is there a requirement for Unified Presense server ??.

Thanks for the response.  I have the Jabber for iPhone client working now.  So the Presense server will be required to allow Jabber client for MACs in our environment.  Would you know if the presense server is would be required to provide integration with Microsoft Lync ?

It depends on the type if integration you want to acheve.   If you are going to do inter-domain or intra-domain federation, then the answer is yes you will need a CUP Server.   If you simply want to register a Lync client to CUCM for call control then you do not need a CUP Server since the Lync client will get it's presence and status information from the Lync server.   This type of integration requires the CUCiLync Client.
