Dear Experts,
I have this issue with a new installation of cisco IM and presence with Jabber. I am not able to add any contacts to my Jabber client or not able to control my ip phone using my jabber client.
My scenario goes like this:
1. CUCM version 9.1 is integrated with Microsoft AD.
2. CUCM – LDAP integration is done in such a way that it will use the “Telephone number” attribute as the User ID. That is all CUCM user names will be numeric. This is for the ease of Extension mobility login from IP phones.
For eg: my CUCM user id will look like: 17511658
3. Whereas my domain user ID will be bejoy@example.com
4. Cisco IM and Presence (version 9.1) takes users from CUCM. And jabber uses the same user credentials to login.
Eg: I use 17511658 as user id to login to jabber. Whereas I must be using bejoy@example.com which is the domain user.
Once logged in to jabber I can’t add any contacts or use any functionalities of Jabber. Does any one have a work around for this, so that I can keep the numeric user id for CUCM users and use jabber for IM and presence at the same time.
Regards

You'll need to change the attribute that Jabber uses to map usernames to by modifying the jabber-config.xml file. You may also want to read my answer to another thread to understand how Jabber figures out XMPP IDs.
