Jabber for Windows - Silence Call Feature Request

I would like to request the ability to silence the ring of the call during the duration of the ringing until the call naturaly goes into voicemail. Sometimes you don't want to pick up a call and you don't want to listen to the ringing or force the caller to VM, which everyone realizes and knows you forced them there.

Today you only have a few options during a call:

1) Let it continue to ring and be annoyed by the sound

2) Turn off volume at sound panel / mixer (not ideal for all users and most times you forget to turn it back on and miss calls and notifications you want to hear)

3) Click 'Dismiss', but the caller is forced to VM. Most times the caller is aware of this action because of the abrupt nature of the ringing being stopped and the VM intro starting. It tells the caller that you are near your phone and that you are not interested in picking up. This is not always ideal, where as simply adding a 'Silence Call' option the ringing is no longer heard for just this call. You can continue to work and the caller is none the wiser of any actions.

If you want to submit a PER you need to reach out to your SE/AM to do so

I have this problem, and I don't understand the "solved" response. To confirm, there is no way to do this already, so if we're on a WebEx call, for example, we just have to listen to the ring or mute all Jabber notifications? This has to be a feature request?

If yes, what is a PER and an SE/AM?

This is a forum which is NOT monitored by the product teams, the intention of OP was to submit a PER (Product Enhancement Request) and posting here was not going to achieve that. The solved status is something that whoever posted can use to tell he considers he got a satisfactory answer, that's it, doesn't mean that his PER ever made it into the product, no idea if he ever submitted it via his AM (Account Manager) or SE (Sales Engineer).

Currently aside from submitting a PER you can also place a request here: https://ciscocollabcustomer.ideas.aha.io/ search for similar requests before posting.
