Jabber iOS registration timeouts?

Hi All,

We recently rolled out our expressways and got everything working for MRA, my question though is, for the iOS/android app what is the best practice for "always on?" we're mainly using jabber for our help desk on-call group for after hours and weekends, and I'm getting reports of missed calls simply because the phone doesn't ring and it seems like the device de-registers after some time. Is this normal behavior or are there any best practices? I told the agents to just leave the app running in the background and it seems to help a little bit but sometimes not 100% working

Thank you,

Google "APNS" and do a bit of reading on how it works with resource management on iOS, that will answer your question. You can also google: "jabber APNS" for specifics of how it's implemented in Jabber.

If they do not logout from Jabber, APNS should make the devices ring, if that is not the case, then you need to review your APNS configuration and troubleshoot as necessary.
