Jabber sends low resolution

Laszlo Olah

Dear Colleagues,

I have faced with a strange problem during a new videoconference installation.

The whole solution has two main components:
- UCM/IMP/CMS based infrastructure with jabber clients and conference rooms
- 3rd party call control/register server with SIP and H323 video endpoints

When I call a videoconference endpoint from jabber, the softclient sends 384x216 30fps only (but receives 720p30).
This low resolution appears only between the jabber and video endpoints, every other direction works perfectly:
- CMS room <-> video endpoint 1080p
- CMS room <-> jabber client 720p
- jabber client <-> jabber client 720p

We have only one region with 2048kbps bit rate for video and for immersive calls as well.

Does anybody any idea where can I find the solution?

Thanks,
Laci

Jabber for Windows sends poor resolution video if a peer works with Multistream mode being Auto
CSCvg69691

Description
Symptom:
Jabber for windows has 2 problems if a peer Telepresence endpoint is working with Multistream mode being Auto.

1. Jabber for Windows sends video with a poor resolution (384*214) to a peer Telepresence endpoint such as MX800Dual. An expected behavior is to use 1280*720.

2. Jabber for Windows is unable to share its desctop to a peer Telepresence endpoint such as MX800Dual.
It doesn't happen when Multistream is OFF.

Conditions:
Call flow:
MX800Dual ---- CUCM ---- Expressway-C ---- Expressway-E --(internet)-- Jabber for Windows

Workaround:
Set Multistream mode : OFF on the peer Telepresence endpoint side.

Hope this Helps

Cheers

You would need to take a trace or a pcap to see what is being negotiated to see where the problem is. Setting the region defines the maximum rate b/w two endpoints in the region. A lower resolution/rate would still be allowed.

Thanks for the response.

I copied from the SIP trace the relevant SDP part of INVITEs and 200 OKs.

1st INVITE from Jabber
a=rtpmap:126 H264/90000
a=fmtp:126 profile-level-id=42E01F;packetization-mode=1;max-fs=3601;max-rcmd-nalu-size=32000;level-asymmetry-allowed=1
a=imageattr:126 recv [x=[32:1:1280],y=[18:1:720],par=1.7778,q=1.00]
a=rtpmap:97 H264/90000
a=fmtp:97 profile-level-id=42E01F;packetization-mode=0;max-fs=3601;level-asymmetry-allowed=1
a=imageattr:97 recv [x=[32:1:1280],y=[18:1:720],par=1.7778,q=1.00]

200 OK from Endpoint
a=rtpmap:126 H264/90000
a=fmtp:126 packetization-mode=1;profile-level-id=428014;max-br=2500;max-mbps=245000;max-fs=8160;max-smbps=245000;max-fps=3000
a=rtpmap:97 H264/90000
a=fmtp:97 packetization-mode=0;profile-level-id=428014;max-br=2500;max-mbps=245000;max-fs=8160;max-smbps=245000;max-fps=3000

2nd INVITE from Jabber
a=rtpmap:126 H264/90000
a=fmtp:126 profile-level-id=42E01F;packetization-mode=1;max-fs=3601;max-rcmd-nalu-size=32000;level-asymmetry-allowed=1
a=rtpmap:111 X-ULPFECUC/90000
a=fmtp:111 max_esel=1420;m=8;max_n=32;FEC_ORDER=FEC_SRTP

200 OK from endpoint
a=rtpmap:126 H264/90000
a=fmtp:126 packetization-mode=1;profile-level-id=428014;max-br=2500;max-mbps=245000;max-fs=8160;max-smbps=245000;max-fps=3000
a=rtpmap:111 x-ulpfecuc/8000
a=fmtp:111 multi_ssrc=1;feedback=0;max_esel=1450;m=8;max_n=64;FEC_ORDER=FEC_SRTP;non_seq=1

Is there any problem with the profile-level-id?

Thanks,

Laszlo
