Jabber Softphone for VDI deployment query

Hello,

I have a customer who wants a Jabber deployment using 12.6.

They want a setup where on laptops users can use a locally installed copy of Jabber for Windows or use a hosted version of Jabber using Citrix XenApps. This latter will require installation of Jabber Softphone for VDI on their laptops.

My question is would this be possible - i.e. can J4W and JVDI co-exist on the same PC - and, even if it is, would it be a supported environment?

My question is, why would you want to do that? JVDI introduces issues based on my experience, but your environment may be different. But what is the point of running both applications on the same laptop? It just doesn't make sense. J4W always outperforms JVDI.
