Jabber steals date from Time Matters application to populate search bar

Good morning,

Having a strange problem between application Time Matters and Jabber.  When the user is inside the app and clicks on a record jabber pops up and the date of the record in time matters populates within the search bar in jabber.  This is very odd behavior and not entirely sure what is linking these two applications together.

At first I figured it was click2x so I built a test policy for this user and modified the following:

ClickToCallProtocolPermissionEnabled = false

EnableClickToCallProtocol = false

Enable CiscoTelConfProtocol = false

EnableCiscoTelProtorol = false

ClickToCallWithEditProtocolPermissionEnabled = false

My theory was getting rid of the click to call registrations in windows would resolve it but it did not.  Same behavior appears.  When the user exits jabber the behavior of course goes away.  If the user has jabber minimize it keeps pulling it up in their face and populating the date in the search box.  Quite annoying.

Reaching out to see if anyone has had similar challenges within jabber and other apps or on the slim chance this exact scenario.

This is jabber 12.5.1 on CUCM 12.5. Client is windows 10

To me, this sounds like a conflict between two applications using the same shortcut key(s) but then again... I am NOT familiar with the Time Matters application. Here's a few links you can review;

If you identify Ctrl+Shift+J as the problem child, then you can change the shortcut key via MakeCallHotKey parameter within the jabber-config.xml file. If not, review the log files for Cisco Jabber.

Actually you nailed it.  It WAS that exact thing.  What I ended up doing was creating a jabber profile for the users with the time matters application and then set <phone>MakeCallHotKey</phone> = false

The end users don't use the hotkeys anyways so they are not missing anything and the issue went away.

Edit: Something I forgot to mention.  When I tried to remap the shortcut in jabber the issue persisted oddly enough.  Even after verifying I had changed it to CTRL-SHIFT-I so disabling the hotkey all together was my only option left.

I believe there's a bug pertaining to the customization of the hot keys or lack of. Modifying the hot keys hasn't worked or consistently worked since release 9 or 10. I don't recall the bug id but it's not difficult to find. I don't know if this problem was resolved in release 12.6 or not.
