Jabber users external only

Hello all,

I am implementing for our customer jabber solution with MRA.   The customer would like to have two different group of users:

- Group 1:  Users of this group can register  internally and extarnal (via VCS expressway) + make video call

- Group 2: Users of this group can either:

- Register intenall and external + make video calls only when registered from External.  Or

- Register only when external + make video calls

Is there a way to permit registration based on users?  Is there a way to enable srv records lookup based on users?

CUCM 9.1.2 +  VCS-C and VCS- 8.2.2  +  jabber client version 11.1.x

Thanks in advance.

The solution does not provide a way to differentiate users, if a user is configured within CUCM/IM&P for Jabber, and you have MRA configured, he will be able to login.

SRV does not work based on users, at the best, you could use geo-DNS

-> The ask for GROUP 2 users sounds more like an enhancement request as of now. Until you try a way to block xmpp ports internally of per user basis ( eg ip address); AFAIK this is not a scalable option. If users are able to make video calls either it will work both ways or wont work either ways. Only being able to place call on video externally only itself sounds another feature request.

-> SRV lookup is always domain/ DNS based; user name cannot be used for SRV lookup; although if you enable ILS in cucm; username would be used to resolve the node where the user ID is a local user.
