On our 8945 handsets, we have 2 line appearances.
Jabber seems to work fine with the 1st line appearance but not with the 2nd.
So calls to the 1st number can be answered via but not calls to the 2nd.
Is there a way to get this working?

Jabber only supports 1 line - TBH, jabber for windows is not very good at all. It really does lack a lot of basic functions - very imature.

Paul is correct, only one line is supported.
Paul,
Which version of J4W are you using and what is lacking for you? Are you comparing it to other competitor similar solutions or trying to compare this to hard phones?

Hi Chris, using JFW 9.1.3 Well options like cal pickup, dual line for a starter. The end user is comparing to Lync at present but it doesnt help when cisco development cant fix problems we have.

So, Lync can have multiple lines and call pickup? Lync server lacks pretty much all basic PBX features today as it is. Comparing to Lync for IM&P is a valid point, comparing phone functionality in my opinion is pointless.
In either case I agree that there as definite lack of features at this point on Jabber and some bugs, but the product has made huge progress from the inception as it is, and will only get better.
HTH,
Chris

Jabber is not Lync! check if multi line appearance is on the roadmap for future Jabber releases.
personally, I think lync is nice software, but pretty lousy for PBX functionality.

Cisco Jabber for Windows and Mac does not support multi-line feature and there's no announced roadmap for it's support.
Thank you for the opportunity to assist you.

Just also to add some arguments, I also would mandatory need to have J4W to control the 2nd line appearance and not the 1st one to be able to handle all call forward from the hardphone on the primary line, and have the second line to be part of a hunt group (Also because it's only possible to make a CFA on an hardphone on the primary line !!, you have to use ccmuser page for other lines)
I was just soooooo badly surprised to see that J4W is:
- not ablle to control the 2nd line (not talking about 2 lines simultenaously but just the 2nd line appearance)
- not able to pop-up when calls come from an hunt-group !!!
It's really incredible....
I tried Jabber 9.2.2 with the hope things were better, and no .... still same bugs

Christophe

I have a user requesting to only control her 2nd line and not the first. Is this funtionatlity still absent in the current build?
08-13-2013 11:52 AM
I had a user request the same thing, to use their 2nd line and not the 1st line with Jabber. All I did was change the order of appearance on their phone via CM.
Still wish you could have more than 1 line appearance via Jabber.

This really isnt an option for our situation as in this call center the top line is known as the UCCX extension. So my reps are trained to know that when that top line rings it is coming from toll free. Its a little more complicated to just swap the line apearence for Jabber.
Which brings up another headach. If I leave it on the UCCX extension not only do they get the agent pop but also the jabber pop as well... frustrating.
