Public Endpoint (SX20) and Expressway without Registering to CUCM

Hi All,

I have Exp-E X8.2.2, Exp-C X8.2.1, and CUCM 9.1.2.

I have SX20 with firmware version TC7.

The MRA traversal is working fine beetwen Exp-E and EXP-C.

Is it possible for me to do this scenario?

1. SX20 with public IP and public DNS server

2. SX20 not registered to CUCM through Exp.

3. Making a call from SX20 to Jabber Windows

4. The scenario topology -->> SX20 > Exp-E > Exp-C > CUCM > Jabber Windows (Registered to CUCM)

I ever do this scenario on VCS Control and VCS Expresway. And it's work.

The scenario is:

1. SX20 with public IP and public DNS server

2. SX20 not registered to VCS Expressway.

3. Making a call from SX20 to Endpoint registered to VCS Control

4. The scenario topology -->> SX20 > VCS-E > VCS-C > Endpoint registered to VCS-C.

Thank you..

Rois

Hello Muhamad,

I've done similar scenario and it's working fine.

Thank you,

Shadi

Hi Shadi,

Thank you for the reply.

Could you tell me please how the way?

Thank you,

Rois

Hello Rois,

SX20 can be configured to work as standalone, take a look at the link below which summarize the configuration steps:

http://www.experts-exchange.com/Hardware/Networking_Hardware/Q_28451585.html

Are both exp-e and exp-c configured properly with with CUCM? Did you try making testing calls from "Cisco Jabber Video for TelePresence"?

Are you able to make outgoing calls successfully (try calling 111@bjn.vc)?

Thank you,

Shadi

Hello Shadi,

Thank you for your reply.

Both exp-e and exp-c are configured properly with CUCM. I can making a call from internet with Cisco Jabber 10.5.3 to the private Cisco Jabber 10.5.3 and TC endpoint (registered to CUCM) and vice versa.

The scenario what i want is TC endpoint (SX20) on the internet (with public ip) is not registered to CUCM. Then TC endpoint (SX20) making a call to private Cisco Jabber 10.5.3 that registered to CUCM. The RMA trunk between exp-c and exp-e is working properly.

Do i have to make a different trunk between exp-e and exp-c for this scenario?

Thank you,

Rois

Hello Rois,

From SX20 are you able to make internet calls into other destinations?

I would like to check the logs, we can start collecting logs from the SX20 to see what is going on.

Thank you,

Shadi

Hi Shadi,

Yes, it can with H323.

Do i need to create another trunk between exp-c and exp-e for this scenario?

Yes, we can collect them.

Thank you,

Rois

As you configured SX20 to work as H323, can you confirm wither (LIC-EXP-GW: Enable GW Feature (H323-SIP) ) is uploaded and H323 is allowed?

Can you try configuring the SX20 as SIP instead of H323?
