Unable To Communicate with Server - Jabber 9.7 - CUP 8.6 - Internal

Hello Everyone,

I've freshly installed a CUP Server (Version 8.6) and followed the guides to setup the Trunk to CUCM and activate the needed services.

When I'm now trying to connect to the CUP Server via Jabber 9.7 for Windows Client using the IP-Adress of the Server directly, I only get the message that it's not possible to connect to the Server. Looking through the Logfile under AppData/Local/ didn't really help me out and I currently am clueless to why this message should come up.

I am suspecting there are specific Ports that have to be opened in order to have the Jabber client communicating with CUP?

CUP and CUCM Servers can be pinged from the Client machine.
The SIP Trunk is established between CUCM and CUP, following services are running on CUP:

  • Cisco AXL Web Service
  • Platform SOAP Services
  • Cisco Bulk Provisioning Service
  • Cisco Serviceability Reporter
  • Cisco UP SIP Proxy
  • Cisco UP Presence Engine
  • Cisco UP Sync Agent
  • Cisco UP XCP Text Conference Manager
  • Cisco UP XCP Web Connection Manager
  • Cisco UP XCP Connection Manager
  • Cisco UP XCP Authentication Service

If needed, I can provide the logfile of the jabber client, but currently I am suspecting issues with Ports when the client tries to access the CUP Server, is this possible?

Looking forward to clarification.

Regards

Hi,

Please try the below tests and let us know the result.

1) Try logging to the CUCM end user page (user option).

2) Try logging into CUP_IP_address/cupuser page.

3) Ping the host name and FQDN for CUCM and CUP servers from the client PC.
