Hi all,
Am trying to login to CUP through jabber client 9.7 for windows.
Initially it was working fine. when i try to login it says cannot communicate with the server.
I have tried the following options and still it didn't work:
i have formatted the laptop and installed jabber and didn't work,
copied registry key from a working machine to my laptop still didn't work,
deleted cached file from app/local/cisco and app/roaming/cisco still it didn't work,
Have rebooted im&presence and CUCM server still it didnt work.
Please help

Hi Moses,
Unable to communicate to the server points to reachability issue. Able to ping both IP addess and hostname of IM&P server. What happens if the user login to differnt PC? it works?
XCP authentication and XCP connection manager services are up and running? Any critical service is down im IM&P?

If it worked previously. What changed that made it break?
Are you trying to register from within your internal network, or across internet, through VPN?

Are you using the IP Address or FQDN? In CUPAdmin under System > Topology how is your server defined ? By IP or FQDN? Same under CCMAdmin > System > Servers ? Should all be FQDN and use FQDN in the Jabber Clients for server name.
You can pull a Jabber Problem Report and look at the unified.log file as well.

When you configure the dhcp pool, you need to lease dns suffix to client as well. No need to add dns suffix in every client manually.
