VCS Express design assistance

Hi,

I need to put together a solution that is purely for video communication to external parties.

Initially used for interviews, so Jabber for Movi will suffice, and then for business to business video communication.

Is it a requirement for the VCS to be installed, or am I able to terminate the video endpoints (SX20, EX90 or MX200) to the VCS Expressway.

If anyone can point me in the direction of information, or outline the solution requirements I would be grateful.

For a truly scalable enterprise solution you normally have a VCS-C paired with a VCS-E. there is a starter pack solution you can look at which is just VCS-E

Also don’t forget using the free Jabber for Video for Telepresence offering one can just go here send the invitation to the other party to download Movi(aka Jabber) and have them call your end point free of charge as long as your end point is reachable from the outside.

I did read both of those posts, they all talk about a VCS-E inside and outside the firewall.

Am I able to use a single VCS-E in the DMZ with the end points terminated to that instead of a VCS-C

Yes the starter pack is essentially that. look over that second link and you will see a design guide for starter pack, see if that helps

You can protect your VCS-E in the DMZ which is always recommended and you can have dual NIC option if your end points are registering from the outside and inside.

There is a table at the bottom that shows the differences between the starter pack and the full blown VCS-C/E
